I quickly sent the email, closing my laptop. I laid on my back across the bed.
“Ronnie!” Dakota yelled as she walked into the room. She landed with a plop at the foot of the bed. Silence filled the room. “You love him, don’t you?”
“What?” I asked, trying to sound innocent. “Who? Who would I love?” I lied, knowing who Dakota was talking about.
“James! I saw the way you were looking at him, youre in love.” Dakota responded, giving me a look.
“We’re just friends Dakota, nothing more.” I responded. “He’s dating Abbey anyway.” I mumbled.
“Ha! So you do love him!” Dakota said, quickly standing up.
“Did you hear me say that I loved James?” I asked, annoyed.
“Yeah, now.” Dakota responded, smartly.
“Shut up!” I demanded. “But why would he like Abbey?” I asked silently.
“I don’t know, she’s pencil thin, blonde, amazingly beautiful…”
“Thanks Dakota, you really make me feel great.” I responded, sarcastically
“Sorry but she’s—” Dakota started.
“LEAVE!” I said quickly, pointing to the door.
I picked up my phone, noticing I had a text.
James: Hi J
Me (Ronnie): Hi James J whats up?
James: The sky, my pants, the birds in the sky.
I laughed reading his last text. I thought for a minute.
Me: You remember where my Aunt Martha’s house is, right?
James: Yeah
Me: Meet me in the big barn at 7:30
James: Ok, see you later
I quickly threw my phone down on the bed, yelling for Dakota.
“What now?” She asked.
“I need something sexy, not to sexy, just…something to get James to fall for me.” I responded, panicing.
“Ronnie!” Dakota yelled, grabbing my shoulders, motioning for me to calm down. I followed Dakota down the hall to her room. “What about this?” She asked, presenting me with a strapless purple dress that appeared to be knee length

“it’s perfect!” I responded, jumping with joy.

Soon, I felt my phone vibrate.
James: Ronnie…Kendall, Carlos, and Logan are coming with me. I tried to tell them no but they didn’t listen.
I paused before responding to his text. I was ok with Carlos, he always made me laugh. Logan, he always knew what to say and Kendall… I stopped before thinking about Kendall.
Me: kk, thts fine.

I sat in silence, it was 7:45. James was late. Soon I felt strong arms wrap around my waist. I squealed, turning to see James. I playfully pushed him before running to give Carlos a hug.
“Hey Veronica!!! I’ve missed you!!!!!” He said, hugging me tighter. I smiled, moving onto hugging Logan.
“Hi Ronnie.” Logan said, hugging me.
I moved onto Kendall. Let the awkward begin. Let me explain.
*FLASHBACK MOMENT!*
“Kendall…” I started to say but was cut off by kendalls soft lips meeting mine. God he was a good kisser.
“Promise me when you go back to Ohio you’ll remember and love me forever.” Kendall said, moving a piece of my hair from my face. I pulled his face closer to mine until our lips met again.
“Does that anser your question?” I asked smiling.
*END FLASHBACK!*
Kendall and I were 14 and had a long distance relationship for two years until I couldn’t stand having a boyfriend I never saw.
“Hey Veronica.” Kendall said, hugging me. I hugged back. I missed his hugs. After we separated an awkward silence fell over the five of us. I turned to walk away from Kendall but ran into James, placing my hands on his chest so I wouldn’t fall. I looked at James. He smiled.
“Youre blushing.” He laughed.
“Um, we’ll just leave you two alone.” Logan finally said. I smiled looking into James’s eyes.
He has a girlfriend Veronica. No matter how bad you want to kiss him, remember, he has a girlfriend.
